It was a beautiful day for our last fire. It was great to hang out with so many neighbors. Tacos were on the menu and very tasty. A new addition for this fire was our sun/rain cover built by Zach. We’re looking forward to adding more shade and protection for future fires.

We also had a fun rainbow experiment using red cabbage juice and acid/base solutions to change the color from purple to green to pink. I didn’t get any fire day pictures of the color changing so I’ve included a photo from my test run.

Our next fire will be Sunday December 1st from 3 – 9 PM. On the menu is Thanksgiving Leftovers Pie.

We’ve been busy since the Halloween fire and have made some upgrades over the last few weeks. With the days growing shorter, it’s the perfect time of year for outdoor movies. Zach built a mount for our screen which means we are now setup for backyard movies!

We are also working on building rain covers for our spaces. First up is a canopy to cover the food table. In the future we want to add covers for the fire, seating, and projector equipment. I hope it’s not too rainy this Sunday, but I also want to test out the new canopy.

    Hope you can make it!

Coming up in just 2 weeks, our next fire will be on Halloween, October 31st. For the menu we are planning a baked potato bar, corn on the cob, blood punch, and s’mores. What are your favorite baked potato toppings?

There will definitely be candy and costumes. And I’m busy working on a spooky science activity for some magical entertainment.

We hope to see you there!
